Kerry and Adam got married in the most unbelievably scenic spot called Hidden Rocks in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. I have been putting off this blog as I kind of feel that then the whole experience is really behind me and I don’t want it to be. It’s been awhile since I have been on such an adventure and these are the kind of places and stories I crave to tell. I first read Kerry and Adam’s email to me when I was in the Kruger which seems just perfect. The love of the bush and the outdoors makes you feel connected. The fact that people came from all over the world and travelled 3 hours from Harare to their venue which was a complete blank canvas, survived thunderstorms and drenched tents speaks so much about these two. It was a whirlwind. I hadn’t met them or even spoken to them but when I got there I couldn’t have felt more welcomed by all friends and family.Throughout the day everyone who was there chipped in in some way. Wether it was collecting wild flowers for decor and bouquets, putting up crocheted blankets as shelters from the sun, when it eventually came out, or digging ditches which I think were to funnel the water for when the rains came, everyone was doing something and it was a community wedding in so many ways. .
I felt so honoured to document such a breathtaking day with the most stunning people. Thank Kerry and Adam. It truly is a wedding I will never forget. I can’t wait to visit Zim again.
